Views of the Peninsula

Kaikōura Peninsula Walk

This magnificent walk should be at the top of the list of free activities to do whilst in this beautiful town. Start from either South bay reserve or the Point kean carpark and wander your' way around the tops of the cliffs that overhang the South Pacific ocean. Encounter birdlife, patches of coastal forest and even seals on this relatively easy walk. If you only have one vehicle, there is the possibility to make this a loop track by descending the set of stairs located approximately two-thirds of the way around the track. Take the route back around the rocks in order to return to your car. Be warned, the beauty of this walk means it can take a lot longer than expected with the many photo opportunities.
