Mt Fyffe

A short 3-4 hour hike from the end of the base of the Kaikōura ranges takes you up to the summit of the magnificent Mt Fyffe. A relatively steep track winds its way through native bush before cleaning and meandering its way towards the summit. At 1606m this hike requires a relatively decent level of fitness. There is an 8 bunk hut that is available to stay in with essential hut commodities, which doesn't need a booking. This is situated about an hour from the summit. The views from the top stretch right out over the Kaikōura peninsular and give a unique perspective of this landmass.
